Today I was with my family in the house just talking, when they read the news paper saying that there was a new law. The new law said that all jews were to where the star of david Wrapped around our arm.

Today I noticed that they were starting to beat and sometimes even kill jews if we did the slightest mistake. Then they started to raid our houses and took everything with a value, from furniture to clothes and other things to our value or what they wanted.

Today they were moving all the jews to a small town surrounded by walls so that jews can’t escape. In the town called “ghettos” everything was in bad condition and was filthy, as if they were trying to make it as bad as possible.

Today they moved us into a smaller ghetto and also I was seperated from my mom and sister and i was just with my dad. Then we were forced to walk into a place call a concentration camp or which others call it “hell”.

While we were arriving I started to see smoke and started to here cry’s and screams. Then I saw a pit of fire and kids were thrown in and killed and then on other places I saw blindfolded men standing in front of pits and were all shot and killed. Every where I looked there was a violent and cruel way of nazis killing jews.

Domestic violence and emotional abuse are behaviors that are used by one person in a relationship to control the other. Partners can be married or not married, heterosexual, gay, or lesbian; living together, separated or just dating. Some ways of domestic abuse can be name-calling or in other words put-downs , keeping a partner from contacting their family and friends, even stopping a partner from getting a job, sexual assault, actually or threatened to physically harm someone. All these are examples of domestic abuse.

Some statistics of domestic abuse is that one in every four women in Philadelphia will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. Also that one out of thirty-three men have attempted or completed rape. People around Philadelphia are being victims of domestic abuse, here are some information to show this; an estimated 1.3 million women are victims of physical assault by an intimate partner each year. Also 91,545 victims of abuse received services from the 62 local programs in Pennsylvania between June 2006 and July 2007.

Experts say that the psychology behind domestic abuse is that people who witness domestic abuse while young carry on the same type of abuse onto others. And then when they are older and have kids, they’re kids pick up on it to and the cycle go’s on. And people who are the victims have a dramatic change as they attend programs to recuperate on the damage done when they were abused.

In Philadelphia if you are a victim of domestic abuse you can contact a therapist or go to your nearest domestic abuse recuperation program that will help with abuse victims. Also you can attend not only that but a various choice of programs that are in Philadelphia to help with your problems.

Major project Lap 7 – Romeo and Juliet 5 scene description

Friday, April 1st, 2011

1)  The first drawing is the scene when romeo and Juliet got married at the altar with the priest. I liked this scene because it shows how serious they were when they said they wanted to get married right away.

2) The second scene shows Juliet looking out the window and thinking about romeo when they were separated because he was banned from the city. I liked this scene because it shows how much she loved him and cared for him.

3) The third scene shows when Romeo drunk the poison to kill himself thinking Juliet was dead, but then Juliet woke up seeing him dead and so then she stabs herself killing herself as well. I like this scene because it shows how strong they’re love was for each other.

4) On the fourth scene it shows Romeo and Juliet kissing when they got married. I liked this scene because it shows how passionate they both were towards each other.

5) On the fifth scene which is one of the most well known scene is the balcony where romeo goes to Juliet during the night and tells her he loves her while risking his life by climbing over the wall and sneaking into her palace. I like this scene because it shows how eager Romeo wants to talk to her.

COMPARE

In the story “elie wiesel” he was seperated from the city and was put into the ghetto with all the other jews and so were all the other kids who were jews. Also elie was fead little bit of food and basically starving to death, everyone was treated like this even all the other jewish kids. kids in the ghetto were badly beaten and mistreated if they didn’t do what they were told. Also while in the ghetto they were moved to concentration camps where some were killed and they were also forced to work in the camps. Adults were not the only things that work so did kids too.

CONTRAST

Some differences between “elie wiesel” and other jewish kids is how a a lot of the jewish kids were killed except elie which he survived. Another difference is how a lot of the jews were sent to a dentist and they’re golden crowns were except Elie because he made excuse to avoid the removal of his golden crown. Also another difference between elie weisel and the other kids is how elie was how some kids were sent to the creamatory and were sent to be killed except him

lap 6-Major project-canvas painting

Monday, February 28th, 2011

In this painting I did of “William Shakespeare” as you can see I drew the drama faces which represented on the plays he had wrote in his life.

Another detail is on how I tried to make it old style like in the text for his name which I did in an old cursive edition. Also this drawing can be commonly found in this same pose as used in a lot of portraits of “William Shakespeare”. Another detail I added is how I put a stage curtain behind him to show that he was involved theater productions. Also in this drawing I tried to make it possible to look at it and tell that this person was a poet right from the first time you lay eyes on this drawing. Some events that I considered while drawing this portrait was when Shakespeare invented the play called “Rome and Juliet” in the year 1594, and also “Othello” in the year 1603.

The letter “S”   (sideways)

It looks like a road from sky view

It looks like a fire hose out of control

Ir looks like a snake moving along the floor

It looks like a pool side chair

It looks like pipes that are sticking out of the ground

It looks like a propeller spinning

1) It shapes your identity depending on how your neighborhood is and where you live, it shapes you by for example. If you live in a tough or bad neighborhood or referred as the “hood” you may come out like the people who are there or maybe even the opposite if they are bad you would become good.

2)Some that are probaly permanent are how you grew up in that certain area some that you can change are how your attitudes were and how you were known there.

3)Showing us to be tough in some points and become friends with a lot and mostly social skills which are very important in life.
